I designed Field Guide to Amphibians and Reptiles of Illinois, a full-color, 304-page Illinois Natural History Survey manual published through University of Illinois Press.
ISTC annual report
This annual report for the Illinois Sustainable Technology Center (ISTC) was full of short stories highlighting projects and programs, many of which contained metrics, quotes, and background information best pulled out from the text. With images hard to come by for ISTC, I created an assortment of graphics that called attention to these story components and livened up the report.

Conservation Blueprint
Intended for a broad audience, I enhanced the Conservation Blueprint for the Fox, Wolf, and Green Bay region with images, quotes, call-out content and metrics.
Butterflies of Illinois: A Field Guide
I designed and assisted with editing Butterflies of Illinois: A Field Guide, a full-color, 440-page Illinois Natural History Survey manual published through the University of Illinois Press. To help users identify the butterfly species presented, I created identification quick guides in the front and back of the manual showing the topside and underside, respectively, of each species’ wings. Each species treatment featured a flight period graphic showing when a user might expect to see the species, photos with the species’ key field features labelled and life size images of specimens showing wing patterns and the size range of the species.
Curious Encounters with the Natural World
I designed Curious Encounters with the Natural World: From Grumpy Spiders to Hidden Tigers, a full-color, 304-page book by Michael Jeffords and Susan Post detailing the some of the coolest (and oddest) things they’ve seen on their travels across Illinois and beyond.
Field Guide to the Crayfishes of Illinois
I designed the Field Guide to the Crayfishes of Illinois, a full-color, 160-page manual published by the Illinois Natural History Survey.
Illinois Beach State Park interpretive signage
I designed and developed content for 38 full-color outdoor signs—trailhead signs, trail markers, a kiosk, and assorted interpretive signs—for Illinois Beach State Park in Zion, Illinois
Common, Unusual, and Rare Plants of Illinois
I designed and assisted with writing and editing A Selection of Common, Unusual, and Rare Plants of Illinois, a full-color, 44-page educational booklet highlighting over 220 plant species found in the state.
